When I first picked up the drum during this journey I never realised how it would change me…
 
Using the drum to introduce Reiki to a person’s energy field helps to create homeostasis, a feeling of peace, deep relaxation which can aid in realising deep tension. Research has also shown it can help with pain control and aid in creating endorphins. It also helps a person emotionally, spiritually and mentally, release blockages; feelings of negatively and emotional trauma. Drumming can help a person to access their higher power and heal on a physical and mental level.
 
 For over 30,000 years, the drum has been honoured as a sacred tool of healing, ritual, and connection. Its steady rhythm echoes the first sound we ever heard — the heartbeat in the womb — reminding us of our deep bond with the Earth and all of life. The vibration of the drum moves through every cell of the body.
